Happy New Year!

A Happy New Year to all my blogging friends! I didn't have to work tonight, and I stayed home. Partly, because I actually planned on working, and second I have been sick this week and didn't want to go out in below 30 degree weather...bbrr. As I saw 2010 draw to a close, I was thinking about what I should post..for I wanted to post something on New Year's Eve. First I thought about posting Resolutions? No. I don't want everyone to know what mine are...and then I not follow through. But as I thought about 2010, it was an amazing year for me. I got to see some amazing places. I have a job that I love....and I have some of the best friends in the world! I'm so very lucky. I'm excited what 2011 will bring, I hope that it will be a better year for those that found this year hard. I am hopeful. I hope to start school this January, I'm a bit nervous...but excited. I know that I need to do it. I had a experience with a friend on Facebook that was so distraught over her Nursing program...and she just wanted to be done, and just jump into a management roll. In the same breath, she knew that she would make a great nurse, but didn't want to be a CNA. I on the other hand, had to climb and am still climbing a long road ahead. But I reminded her that everyone starts at the bottom. And something else that bothered me was that I have been a CNA which in laymans terms is a certified nursing assistant for about 7 yrs. I have never regret starting at the bottom because it helps me to appreciate those that help me to become a better nurse. And as I told my friend this, I don't know if it helped. But it felt good to say. I don't know in the future, what role in nursing I would like to be in. I just know right know, I enjoy it. Yes there are alot of days I am telling myself "you got this!" or as I was thinking last night I adopted a saying I saw and the saying was" Keep Calm. And Carry On." I just need to remember these things. Did I accomplish huge goals this year? No. Did I enjoy the journey? Absolutely! And lastly, I am very proud with updating my blog...its been like a journal for me. Sometimes I may ramble about nothing. But thats Ok. And you know what? Its more than great...its my journey. I hope you have a wonderful 2011. And thanks for your comments. :)

Twas the Week Before Christmas....

Twas the week before Christmas and quiet in my house. Too many pictures to take and blog posts to make, without even a mouse. :) No more rhymin' or you'll be whinin'.

Dinner and Presents exchange at Raising Cane's.

Oh look, a snuggie! And purple too.

We Match! I love my scarf, Allie!

Oh My Gosh!! I can speak now. I got us tickets for this...and I kept it a secret since the end of October. It was killing me, I tell you!

I can so relate to Nurse Connie Lou Chamberlain! ;)

:) I can't believe I stood in line, but glad I did...thanks Lilly.

This pic isn't so great...but its life...and kinda funny. :)

We ate here on Christmas Eve, so good!

My grandma and me...don't fool your eyes, I am not Chinese..although I love telling people I have a Chinese grandmother, and my Dad is a Sanchez...and nope I don't speak Espanol. Love her!

The ceiling......

Got this off Google, they make a spinning salad. And she pours the salad dressing like that. I thought if i took a pic, we might have a disaster...she needs to concentrate.

This is from our dining...they wheel out the beef to your table...mmmm.

A Merry Christmas to all....and to all a goodnight!

My Year in Status

Facebook has this neat application. You can combine all your statuses that you made and combine them into a page. Kind of funny to read. But here it is. Consider it my Year in Review. Enjoy!

Peter, Paul & Mary singing ...Leaving On A Jet Plane

In honor of my voyage. It was funny, as I was heading for home from the airport tonight. I heard this song. I think my Dad may have had something to do with this. Thanks Dad. :) I can picture you trying to sing this, LOL.

Christmas Concert with Motab Choir and David A.

Let's Go!!

Me and Wendy in the hotel lobby. So excited.

A HUGE thank you to the Blackhams for the spare tix!

This would be the giveaway the church did. I didn't get any.
Such a memorable experience!

I took these with the cell phone, I'm pretty proud. :)

Temple Square
Assembly Hall
And my most favorite pic of all!

In October the Church had announced the Holiday Concert with David Archuleta and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir as I lovingly refer to as the Motab choir ;). Millions of people, including myself went on the computer at midnight to get free tickets. I didn't get any. But it didn't stop me. I thought, you don't know until you try...right? So with faith, I decided to make my plans. And everything just fell into place. The night before I left I got a message from my friend Bethany..after I made a last ditch effort to see if any spare tickets were around. I was thinking I'd be a very lucky girl if I got any at all..or I just stand outside and sing carols...LOL. But it truly all worked out. She decided to spare me two of her tickets. She said we would probably appreciate them more than her kids. I don't know about that, but I'm so grateful to get tickets. Alot were standing on the sidewalks outside. I had an amazing time. My friend Wendy came..a really fast trip, but a great trip. The Concert on Friday we went to was attended by President Monson, and President Uctdorf and their wives. What amazes me to this day, is that when you are inside with all the people it can be so noisy with the chatter, then, as soon as the prophet comes in..then all of a sudden a hush falls over the crowd. It is so amazing to witness. A wonderful Spirit was there. I am feeling the Spirit of Christmas....bring it on! Also I'm thankful to own a phone capable of taking pictures, my heart sank when I packed the camera but not the chip...ugh! And I'm glad I learned how to copy friend's pics that were posted to Facebook..haha.

Christmas Memories...

First time making candy. These are Cindyproof.
I promise to share recipes.....

Baking....ground zero. Yeah, fun. I'll do it again it 12 months, LOL.

Not so fun cleaning up...:P

I'm doing something that I've never attempted before. Drum roll please...candy making. My christmas memories growing up center around my Mother. My Grandpa Jim lived in Parowan. Every year, my mom would attempt to make the fantasy fudge, you know...that no fail fudge?LOL. Umm yeah. She could never get that to set up, and fast forward to present day and I can't make fudge either, LOL. Gave that one up a looong time ago. However, if someone would like to make ME fudge, I take donations. :) But anyway, my mom attempted candy making, peanut clusters are what I remember. But I have never made candy. Until tonight. My next posts will be some pics and recipes. I like to call them Cindyproof. Because if I can do it, trust me, anyone can. I made some mint oreo truffles and some other kind of chocolate truffle. And I made some gingerbread cookies. They're so good. I'm mostly a cook. With baking, there can't be any mistakes, its all about exactness. Thats probably why I don't bake. Because I make mistakes, if I cook something, and its missing something..well I can probably fix it. But, I give myself credit for trying. I am not gonna lie...not my favorite thing to do. But keeps me busy nonetheless!! So far, so good. Should I try the sewing machine next?? Naaahhhhh!! ;)

The Nativity is Back!

Oh Darn! My picture is outta sync! Anywhoo, this gingerbread masterpiece comes from my amazing friend Christene. She is a contributor to the Whipperberry site. Click the link to take a peek. Very Fun. Gingerbread Genius! :) Mine's at the bottom.
We went to Grimaldi's for dinner. A patient reccomended it. Its way good! By Eastern and 215.

My first meal of the day, gotta love it.

Joelenne and Lilly...sorry about my thumb, not my camera!

Getting ready for dessert!

Butterscotch Toffee Cheesecake...for Lilly. And as any good friend would do, we tested. For safety, of course. ;) YUMMM!

Joeleene and myself ordered a Canolli. First time for me, it was so good! Why did I wait so long?

The before.....

And after........LOL

My Sisters!!
The choir before the concert

A Japanese nativity. I liked it.

Baby Jesus, four weeks old. Precious!

Theresa and.... Sam, Jeremiah, James, Jaina and little Sara. Phew!

Me and Theresa, friends since 8th grade! :)

My instant heater= sore knees.

Sara enjoyed it

Lilly is so in her element. There is over 500 nativities in here, I think.

I think this is my favorite. So glad Redrock Stake took over. I was so sad last year when this wasn't happening. It puts me in the holiday mood. Yeah, I did cry. Nothing new....and I wasn't the only one. Great spirit there.

A nativity from Ecuador.

From Jerusalem...and thats real olive wood.

My fruits of attending my friend Christene's party. She baked them all. I just decorated, and I'm so glad. I could never make mine stay up, LOL. She's super talented. Check out my link for Whipperberry. She's one of the contributors. I didn't eat the candy. *pat on the back*

And the back. The cornflakes are supposed to be snow. ;)

And after all that...we went lookin' at some lights. Awesome, right? I don't want to know your powerbill mister. But thank you for your christmas cheer. So poor people like me with no lights can admire. :)

And lastly...I got into Nevada State College!! Time to start the next phase of my nursing career. Very slowly. But I am starting and I am excited. For now, I'm only getting my associates RN. Its cheaper. I really didn't want to go back for awhile. I love what I do. But I realize the economy is what it is..and I need to keep going. Nevada State College had a weekend biology class that I need, when I get done there what I want...I will hopefully finish at CSN. Four more biology classes to go. Then, I have about 7 classes to get my RN!!
